Beyond Entropy Africa

Beyond Entropy was a research-based studio that operates at the threshold between art, architecture, and geopolitics. Beyond Entropy uses the concept of energy as a tool to conceive new forms of architecture beyond the rhetoric of sustainability and operates globally in situations of territorial crisis. Beyond Entropy Africa has developed several research-based projects, from books to curatorial projects, art installations, architectural interventions, public debates and publications. Between 2012 and 2016 Beyond Entropy was a regular presence during La Biennale di Venezia leading up to several important projects such as Beyond Entropy Angola (13th Biennale Architettura), Luanda, Encyclopaedic City, Venice Biennale 2013 – Golden Lion for best National Participation at the 55th International Art Exhibition – and has exhibited at Triennale Milano, Bamako Biennial, Experimenta Design, Hangar, Hangar Bicocca, ICA London, Zeitz Mocca, among others.
